Kasenna Dazzles NAB 2007 with Its Third-Generation IPTV Middleware PortalTV Suite, One-Million-Subscriber HP/Intel/Kasenna Bench

LAS VEGAS, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- NAB 2007 -- Kasenna, the IPTV Company(TM) announced today that it will showcase, for global telecom carriers, real solutions to IPTV scalability and content delivery through its booth exhibits, partner demos and executive presentations at NAB 2007.

Kasenna will showcase how it addresses the IPTV scalability issue by sharing results of a benchmark test of its PortalTV(TM) product suite conducted in conjunction with Hewlett-Packard Corporation (HP) and Intel Corporation The benchmark test demonstrates how the suite scales from thousands to more than a million set top boxes. Results of its IPTV benchmark test will be on display in the Kasenna booth, C2655 and the HP booth, SU2524.

Kasenna has delivered the third generation of middleware (LivingRoom(TM) 2.0) that will finally allow carriers to take advantage of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) for delivery of IPTV services, and DHTML-based customizable middleware that serves to bring TV and the Internet together.

In other broad-ranging announcements at the show, Kasenna announced: -- Kasenna captures the #2 position in the Video-On-Demand server market in 2006 - moving up from the #3 position in 2005 - based on the March 2007 IPTV Market Leader Report, published by the MRG Group -- Strategic partnership with Amino Systems, one of the leading IPTV STB providers, and with ANT Software, a provider of a leading browser and other TV application software, to showcase its PortalTV software suite, which leverages its browser-based, smart-client application running on STBs, to rapidly deploy new, customizable IPTV services Kasenna's and other booths will feature the following Kasenna demos:

PortalTV: Consisting of Kasenna's LivingRoom(TM) 2.0 IPTV middleware, MediaBase(TM) XMP video delivery platform, and content from its subsidiary ViewNow. PortalTV is the industry's most comprehensive platform for delivery of a broad range of IPTV services, including Broadcast TV, Personal Video Recorder (PVR), Pay-Per-View, StartOver TV, and Network PVR services.

The HP Booth

Kasenna and HP will demonstrate how open-standards servers and Kasenna's MediaBase VOD and LivingRoom middleware can scale for telcos and service providers seeking IPTV solutions that can reach all existing and new subscribers.

The Harris Corporation Booth

Kasenna will demonstrate its interoperability with Harris NetVX(TM) MPEG- 4/H.264 encoding technology, which allows telcos and service providers with limited bandwidth to deliver outstanding standard definition and HDTV picture quality at low bit rates to consumers. Kasenna will feature its PortalTV product suite.

Kasenna Speaks at NAB

On Tuesday, April 17, Kasenna will both host and take part in a Telecom at NAB event with a panel entitled "IPTV - Scaling World Wide." The panel discussion focuses on scaling a network to meet subscriber demand, and will feature subject-matter experts from HP, Intel, and Kasenna, starting with a lively discussion of what it takes to plan and grow a network properly. Key issues will be the discussion of the one-million-subscriber benchmark test and its impact on the industry, along with understanding content distribution using Video-on-Demand (VOD). The event takes place April 17, 2007 from 3:15pm to 3:55pm. The location of the meeting room will be posted at show.

On Wednesday, April 18, Kasenna CEO Kumar Shah will speak at the iHollywood Forum's co-located IPTVWorld event on a panel called "Reinventing Advertising," from 5:30pm to 6:10pm in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, rooms S219 and S220.
