Aerohive Expands Executive Management Team Hiring a CMO to Drive Global Go-To-Market Strategy

Aerohive Networks®, a leader in controller-less Wi-Fi and cloud-managed mobile networking for the enterprise market, today announced that it has hired a chief marketing officer to lead Aerohive’s global go-to-market efforts and support its efforts to continue to grow in the cloud-enabled enterprise Wi-Fi space. This new appointment continues the expansion of Aerohive’s management team, representing the fifth addition to the leadership team announced in the past year.

News Facts

  • David Greene joins Aerohive as SVP and CMO, with the task of driving alignment and execution in all of Aerohive’s global go-to-market efforts.
  • David joins the Aerohive team bringing over 20 years of executive experience in technology marketing, coming from his position as CMO at WAN optimization company Riverbed. At Riverbed, David ran global and sales marketing campaigns, helped grow the channel program with deeper sales and technical capabilities and worked on integrating the company’s $1 billion acquisition of OPNET.
  • Prior to Riverbed, David was vice president of worldwide marketing for BMC Software’s IT management software business, where he served for six years. Before BMC, he held a number of executive marketing positions at Active Reasoning, a pioneer in data center automation, Exodus Communications, HiFive.net, and Hewlett-Packard Co.
  • As Aerohive’s CMO, David will lead outbound marketing, product management and business development initiatives, while helping to ensure the company’s sales strategy is aligned with all of Aerohive’s global go-to-market initiatives.

Comments

“Out of the many candidates we interviewed for this role, David stood out for his ability to drive alignment across the entire organization, his expertise in building brand awareness and corporate positioning, and proven executive experience as a CMO in this competitive industry,” said David Flynn, chief executive officer of Aerohive Networks. “In some companies ‘CMO’ is a fancy name for the outbound marketing role, but at Aerohive we believe it to be the voice of the market and champion of the customer experience. I am confident that David will be that kind of CMO for us, as we aim to take our organization to the next level.”
