SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/02/12 -- GlobalLogic Inc., a leader in software R&D services, today announced that Peter Harrison is stepping down as chief executive officer and that the board of directors has named Shashank Samant, previously GlobalLogic president, as the company's new CEO. Harrison has been elected vice chairman of the board.
"Peter Harrison's vision and leadership helped build GlobalLogic over the past ten years from just a handful of employees to the current 6,000-person strong global innovation engine it is today, positioning the company well as one of the world's leading software R&D service companies," noted Mike Daniels, chairman of the GlobalLogic board of directors. "In his new role as vice chairman of the board, Peter will continue to serve GlobalLogic with his unique skills, insight and strategic vision."
Daniels continued: "Now, as a widely respected executive in driving global innovation, Shashank Samant is a natural choice to serve as CEO and president, leading our company in this time of strong growth and unprecedented opportunity. Shashank's stellar results with organizations including IBM and Hewlett-Packard, and most recently as president of GlobalLogic, are testimony to the fact that he can execute at the highest levels, and is well-suited to take the company to the next level."
"During the past few years, we've expanded the company's presence around the globe and nearly doubled its size. Working with Peter to drive this period of outstanding growth has given me invaluable exposure to the deep, global talent pool we've built at all levels of the company," commented Samant. "In this new role, I look forward to increasing our impact on client R&D, and to intensifying the company's focus on technology's most disruptive segments: mobility, cloud and social solutions."
