2010 - 2020 : la décennie Cloud Computing s’ouvre en fanfare !

Il n’y a plus un seul grand fournisseur qui ne proclame pas que le Cloud Computing est un élément clef de sa stratégie ; ce n’est pas moi qui vais m’en plaindre !

J’avais été sévère, il y a quelques semaines, avec les annonces Cloud de Microsoft et SAP. Ce sont les deux fournisseurs mondiaux qui ont le plus à perdre si les entreprises migrent massivement vers des solutions Cloud Computing ... ce qui va se produire dans la décennie qui démarre.

Birds cloud migration Je vous propose de passer en revue quelques entreprises clefs du secteur informatique avec qui je collabore.
Toutes ces entreprises vont, sérieusement, stratégiquement et rapidement vers des solutions Cloud Computing et SaaS.

Ce sont tous des entreprises «historiques», nées bien avant le Cloud, oui, mais elles sont en train de prendre les «bonnes» décisions qui leur permettront de continuer à jouer un rôle important dans la décennie Cloud.

Pour éviter les susceptibilités, je les cite par ordre alphabétique.


CA : Computer Associates

Computer Associates (plus de 4 milliards de dollars de CA en 2009) est avant tout un éditeur de logiciels de gestion d’infrastructures. Au lieu de considérer le Cloud Computing comme une menace, ils ont choisi d’accompagner le mouvement en aidant leurs clients, en priorité de grandes entreprises, à gérer une migration ordonnée vers des solutions Cloud en complément des infrastructures existantes.

CA cloud academy LinkedIn En ce début d’année, le nouveau directeur marketing de CA a pris la décision de lancer une «Cloud Academy» (mêmes initiales !).  Amazon, CapGemini et Revevol sont les trois partenaires choisis par CA pour animer les conférences qui seront organisées au cours de l’année 2010 dans le cadre de ce programme. La première session, à laquelle je participe, aura lieu le 17 février.

HP

Mark Hurd, CEO de HP, croit au Cloud, mais ... prudemment !
Dans un entretien récent, il a clairement indiqué que le Cloud était un mouvement majeur, et qu’HP souhaitait y jouer un rôle important.

Rebecca Lawson, HP Cloud worldwide Nous en avons vu une illustration cette semaine à Paris. La tournée mondiale, «Realize the future», y a fait escale le jeudi 21 janvier ; plus de 1 000 personnes assistaient à cet événement et le Cloud Computing était l’un des thèmes forts de la journée.

Rebecca Lawson, «Director, Worldwide Cloud Service initiatives», a fait une brillante présentation de la stratégie HP qui sépare clairement les Cloud publics et privés, mais en jouant sur leur complémentarité.

J’avais eu avant plusieurs entretiens avec des dirigeants HP France pour définir une possible collaboration.


IBM

100 milliards de dollars de CA en 2009 ; IBM reste la première entreprise mondiale en informatique. Bravo pour une entreprise centenaire qui a pris le nom IBM en 1924.

Très rares sont les entreprises informatiques qui ont su s’adapter comme l’a fait IBM pour rester compétitives.
IBM a bien compris l’importance du Cloud Computing. Lors de LotusSphere 2010, IBM a annoncé que Panasonic allait migrer, progressivement, 300 000 personnes sur le «Cloud» avec LotusLive, en substitution de Microsoft Exchange.

LOGO club alliances solution as a service Il y a plus de 3 ans déjà, Loic Simon a créé au sein d’IBM le «Club Alliances» pour aider les éditeurs de logiciels à préparer leur migration vers les solutions SaaS et Cloud.

Forum SaaS & Cloud IBM J’aurai l’honneur d’être, avec Loic Simon, le «keynote» speaker du prochain forum de ce club, vendredi 5 février toute la journée. La participation à ce forum est ouverte à tous, et gratuite, sous réserve du nombre de places disponibles dans la salle de conférence ! Ce forum est en priorité destiné aux éditeurs et professionnels de l’informatique, mais DSI et responsables informatiques y seront les bienvenus.


Oracle

Oracle Ellison on Cloud Larry Ellison, CEO de Oracle, est célèbre pour ses critiques du Cloud Computing. Lors d’un long entretien au «Churchill Club», il a fait rire la salle aux dépens du Cloud ; à écouter à partir de la minute 45 de cette longue vidéo.Cela ne l’a pas empêché d’investir personnellement dans Salesforce (en revendant ses titres, il a multiplié son investissement initial par 50 !) et dans NetSuite, deux des grands acteurs du Software as a Service.

Sur le terrain, Oracle prend aussi le chemin du Cloud et du SaaS.

Oracle CRM on demand Oracle m’avait invité le 1er décembre à animer la conférence introductive lors d’un diner «VIP» chez Guy Savoy (mémorable diner, pantagruélique !) pour parler de leurs solutions Cloud Computing dans le domaine du «CRM On demand».
Oracle est aussi le distributeur de la solution CRM traditionnelle Siebel ; sans trahir de secrets, je peux confirmer que c’est l’offre On Demand qui représente l’essentiel des nouvelles ventes dans le domaine du CRM.


Unisys

J’avais déjà parlé, positivement, d’Unisys et de sa stratégie Cloud, dans mon compte rendu de la conférence Cloud Computing de San Francisco, en novembre 2009.

Unisys St Paul view Comme beaucoup d’autres acteurs historiques, Unisys met l’accent sur la complémentarité des Cloud privés et publics, ce qui est logique quand on sait que l’essentiel de ses clients sont de grandes entreprises dans des secteurs transport et finances.

Unisys France n’est pas en reste dans ce domaine ; ils m’ont invité à présenter les évolutions du Cloud Computing lors d’une conférence pour responsables informatiques, du 8 au 10 mars, dans leur magnifique centre de séminaires de Saint-Paul-de-Vence, près de Nice.


2010, an 1 de la décennie Cloud Computing !

En l’espace de quelques mois, toutes les entreprises que j’ai cité, et d’autres dont je ne peux pas encore parler, ont décidé, en France, de mener des actions de sensibilisation et de marketing autour de leurs offres Cloud Computing.

Steeple chase C’est un signe qui ne trompe pas ; elles ont toutes compris qu’il était pour elles prioritaire de se positionner très vite dans ce domaine.

CA, HP, IBM, Oracle, Unisys d’un coté, Amazon, Salesforce et Google de l’autre ! Les historiques contre les natifs : on se prépare à dix années passionnantes et bénéfiques pour les entreprises clientes.
