Three New HP TouchSmart Products Give Consumers an Engaging Computing Experience

LONDON, UK, October 13, 2009 – Providing consumers with an engaging and interactive computing experience, HP today expanded its TouchSmart portfolio with three new products. They are:

• the HP Pavilion dv3 with TouchSmart – the industry’s first multi-touch clamshell laptop PC,
• the HP TouchSmart600 PC with 23-inch full HD 16:9 display,
• the HP TouchSmart300 PC with 20-inch 16:9 display.

Additionally, HP announced technology updates to the HP TouchSmart tx2, the industry’s first and only multi-touch consumer tablet PC.

All four products feature HP TouchSmart 3.0 software – HP’s latest touch suite that includes new applications - -TouchSmart Canvas for organising and editing photos with touch gestures and TouchSmart Live TV for not only watching television broadcasts but recording and pausing live TV and getting detailed information on programs using the electronic guide.

This new software complements enhanced TouchSmart applications - - Calendar, Clock, Music, Notes, Weather, TouchSmart Browser, TouchSmart DVD, TouchSmart Blu-ray DVD, TouchSmart RSS and TouchSmart Webcam.

Customers will find it easy to express their personal style with the customisable tile title bar and backgrounds. Additionally, new colours and transparency have been added for a fresh look.

HP TouchSmart 3.0 software
Boasting new visuals and personalisation, new interaction and improved applications, HP TouchSmart 3.0 software further delivers touch capabilities and an intuitive interactive experience to customers.  Customers with previous TouchSmart PC models will soon be able to receive a software download with some of these new exclusive touch applications.
• New visuals: wide frames (16:9) to support new hardware and new colours
• Personalisation: a selection of tile colours and backgrounds to chose from
• Interactive tiles: quick access to all touch content and direct interaction with all applications
• Enhanced core applications: multi-touch capabilities and usability improvements

HP Pavilion dv3 with TouchSmart
Available in a fresh new navy blue HP Imprint finish, Modern Vintage, the dv3 is the perfect size for touch interactions and designed for mobility.

HP TouchSmart PCs fits elegantly within the home – whether placed on a table or mounted on a wall, the sleek piano black finish with silver panels and slim casing add an element of style to any interior.  The swivel base, tilt webcam and wall mount capability provide customers with the flexibility to use and collaborate with this product in a wide range of locations in the home.

With the TouchSmart tx2’s unique dual-mode service, users can select all their files with either the tip of their finger or a digital pen. The convertible screen opens for classic use, twists for showing presentations and folds flat into a slate for watching movies.

The HP Pavilion dv3 with TouchSmart will be available from 22nd October, 2009 at a recommended street price of £799.
The HP TouchSmart600 PC will be available from 22nd October, 2009 from a recommended street price £1199.99.
The HP TouchSmart300 PC will be available from 16th November, 2009 from a recommended street price of £899.99.
The HP TouchSmart tx2 will be available from 22nd October, 2009 at a recommended street price of £799.
